Mariah Carey Rents Hamptons Home For $125,000 - A longtime favorite of the wealthy and well-connected, the Hamptons is a New York getaway for some of the biggest celebs. Jennifer Lopez owns a home there, Madonna is often spotted in her rental and Sean “Diddy” Combs is famous for his annual Fourth of July fest thrown at his Hamptons spread. This summer, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and their 1-year-old twins are also joining the celeb-studded spree and renting a home in the collection of hamlets on Long Island.
Carey’s enormous spread is currently listed on the Sag Harbor, NY real estate market for $14.995 million, and Real Estalker reports that the diva is paying at least $125,000. That’s chump change compared to the $350,000 the couple dropped one summer to rent Tommy Hilfiger’s 5-bedroom Hamptons home.
The 6-bed, 6.5-bath home sits on a super-private 2-acre peninsula jutting into Peconic Bay. There’s not really an accessible sandy beach, but the home makes up for it with a resort-style pool complete with floating day beds and spa.
Inside, the 7,500-square-foot home has every celebrity amenity imaginable, including smart house functions completely controllable by an iPad. Set behind a remote-controlled gate, the home also includes guest houses for all of the Carey-Cannon security detail.
This rental is by no means Carey’s only summer hangout. The singer also owns a triplex New York City apartment and a Bel Air, CA mansion formerly owned by Farrah Fawcett. She also owns an oceanfront home in the Bahamas but recently listed it for $5.5 million.
