Tim Tebow, The Denver Broncos look like they are the big winners of the Peyton Manning Sweepstakes. Congratulations, Broncos fans. It's not every day (or decade) you get to sign a living legend to be your quarterback. But the downside is that Denver's starting quarterback from last season, the phenomenon known as Tim Tebow, is almost certainly going to have to go. Denver simply isn't big enough for both Peyton and Tim. So where will Tebow be headed?Some have suggested that he will end up with the Miami Dolphins.Tebow would be popular there, having played college football for the University of Florida. But Miami's Matt Moore is actually a decent starter, and David Garrard just signed with the team as their likely backup. Why sign Tebow just to sit him on the bench as a third-stringer?
Others have opined that New England would sign him and utilize him as a TE or FB. But Tebow would not be satisfied in such a role, and I doubt Tom Brady wants him on the team since Tim would take a lot of the spotlight off of Tom.
No, Tim Tebow is probably going to be a Jacksonville Jaguar next season. He played high school football in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, just south of Jacksonville. As previously mentioned, he was a Florida Gator in college, and Gainesville is quite a bit closer to Jacksonville than it is to Miami. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has expressed interest in acquiring Tebow in the past. And Jacksonville definitely needs a QB—rookie Blaine Gabbert struggled last season, and newly acquired backup Chad Henne has yet to finish a season with a passer rating higher than 79.0.
