"He grew close to Kyle and, of course, that has nothing to do with the situation with Tameka," a source tells Us Weekly. "He loved Kyle. This is a terrible, awful tragedy. Usher is torn up."
Kyle is the stepson of Usher's ex-wife, Temeka Foster. Neither of them get along, but they're supporting one another during this
critical time. In fact, Usher chartered a jet for Foster to be near her son when news broke of the jet ski accident on a Georgia lake Friday. His stepson was horribly injured when the jet ski passed him while he was on an inner tube being pulled by a boat. Kyle was with another teenage girl who suffered a broken arm and cut on her head.
The driver of the jet ski -- Jeremy S. Hubbard -- was actually a family friend.
No plans have been for Usher's stepson to be taken off life support. On Sunday news broke that the 11-year-old was officially brain dead.
