Needles in sandwiches served on Delta flights Needles were reportedly found in sandwiches that were served on Delta Air Lines flights, prompting the FBI to investigate the incidents (how many flights served the needle sandwiches?). The sandwiches for all four flights were prepared by Gate Gourmet in Amsterdam, the official caterer for Delta Airlines.
One passenger was injured while eating the ‘needles stuffed’ sandwich. An air Marshall discovered another needle.
Delta Airlines says it has contacted its catering company, Gate Gourmet, one of the largest providers in the world of airline food, to ensure safety and quality of the food it serves.Once the needles were discovered, Delta replaced the sandwiches on all 18 flights departing from Amsterdam with Pizza.
The needle incidents took place on board Delta flights from Amsterdam to Minneapolis, Seattle and twice Atlanta.
