man donates ring goodwill

man donates ring goodwill, A Georgia man mistakenly made a big donation at his local Goodwill store (find one near you). Josh Miller says he gave away a ski jacket, but later remembered his girlfriend's $3,500 engagement ringwas in the pocket. He says he had been hiding it there for the last two months, waiting for the right time to propose A young couple's wedding plans suffered a setback when the groom-to-be found he had accidentally donated his girlfriend's engagement ring to Goodwill. Josh Miller, 31, had been hiding the ring in the pocket of an old winter coat for two months as he waited for the right moment to pop the question.

"She talked about the exact right that she wanted for a long time and we just finally, for once, found the perfect engagement ring and we were very excited," Miller told ABC News' Atlanta affiliate WSB-TV.
That excitement was short-lived however. Ready to propose, Miller dug through his closet for the ring, growing increasingly frantic as he realized it was nowhere to be found.
"I was just shaking," Miller said. "I didn't know what to do, or what to say, or how to feel. I called Cara immediately, but she thought I was joking."
Thinking back, Miller realized that coat, ring and all, was among the items he had put in a pile to donate to Goodwill earlier in the week.
"Honestly, I just think I forgot," he said. "I knew it was in my closet somewhere, but we were just grabbing stuff and I threw it in a pile and thought, 'I don't wear that anymore.'"
By the time Miller was able to get in contact with the Goodwill in his hometown of Buckhead, the coat, which had been put on the shelves earlier in the week couldn't be located.
Miller has not given up however, he is hoping that a Good Samaritan finds the ring, in his jacket, which he described as a black ski jacket with gray stripes, and return it to him. The ring is made up of a square princess-cut solitaire with smaller diamonds surrounding it in a white gold setting.
"That ring means more to me than anything I can explain," Miller told WSB.
In the meantime, the couple will proceed with their wedding plans; Miller is scheduled to fly to Akron, Ohio to ask his fiancee' Cara Epstein's father for her hand in marriage. Whether or not there will be a ring to be put on that hand remains to be seen.
"She's a school teacher and I'm a landscaper," he said. "We obviously don't make enough money to afford something like that on a regular basis. It was a very large purchase for us, and I just made a very bad mistake."
We all know the phenomenon of pulling out you ski jacket from the closet and discovering forgotten treasures from the season before. Usually it results in a joyous reunification of lost items and a burst of nostalgia – or at least a five-dollar bill. But what if you gave that jacket away without checking the contents of its pockets?

A Georgia man has recently made the stomach-dropping revelation that the ski jacket he donated to Goodwill last week contained an engagement ring meant for his girlfriend!

Josh Miller had hidden a $3,500 diamond engagement ring in the pocket of his black jacket with gray stripes. He was waiting for the right time to pop to question to his girlfriend, Cara Epstein. He had dropped it off on Monday to the Goodwill located on Roswell Road in Atlanta, GA. The good dead turned tragic when Miller realized his mistake on Wednesday.

In an interview with WSB-TV, Miller explained, ”I didn’t know what to do, or what to say, or how to feel. I called Cara immediately, but she thought I was joking.”

The jacket most likely hit the sale racks on Goodwill on Monday or Tuesday, and was sold soon after. The only hope left is that a Good Samaritan finds the engagement ring and seeks out the rightful owner.

Hopefully the recent media attention will lead to some good news for the unfortunate couple…

Check those pockets people! There might be more than a weather torn trail map stashed in your gear.
Engagements and wedding planning can be terribly stressful times. Details like party planning, budget control, invitations and everything else can start to add up. But what about the two most important factors: the engagement ring and the wedding bands? Men’s rings and women’s diamond engagement ring settings may take up the least amount of space, but are certainly some of biggest factors in wedding planning. So where do the bride and groom start? Well, it really all comes down to style.First things first – what kind of diamond engagement ring does the bride envision for herself? Many go for a diamond ring and luckily there is so much to choose from that there is certainly something for everything bride. Some of the more popular styles are pave settings, which uses tiny diamonds set together to create an even surface, side stone rings, in which the center stone is flanked by either diamonds or gemstones, Wedding bands are an element that affect both bride and groom and, like diamond engagement rings, have many different style options. For women the real choice is between a diamond wedding band and a simple, classic wedding band. Of course there are choices of metals like 14 karat or 18 karat in yellow gold or white gold or going with platinum instead. But with diamond wedding bands, styles can vary greatly – some are designed to fit the engagement ring perfectly and others are stand alone designs. Simple bands can also fit the engagement ring or take on a design and shape all its own.
Men tend to have it a bit easier when choosing a wedding ring. But men’s wedding rings can also come in a large variety of styles, shapes, sizes, widths, metals and can also include diamonds as well. The biggest style trend with men’s wedding rings over the last few years seems to be with metal or material type. Metals such as platinum and titanium have become very popular in the last decade and tungsten rings are also on the rise, giving the wedding band an exotic quality.
The most important thing to remember when choosing a diamond engagement ring and wedding band is find what kind of ring fits the bride’s and groom’s budget, but most of all, what suits their style. After all these are symbols that will be worn for the rest of their lives.
