Kelis owes $300k in back taxes to IRS, Kelis is reportedly in trouble with the IRS, after failing to pay over $300,000 in taxes.

TMZ reports that a tax lien filed in New York states that the 'Milkshake' singer owes $330,426 (£210,910) to the government for skipping tax filing in 2004 and 2010.

Both years were financially successful ones for the star, who toured with Britney Spears in 2004 and headlined a North American tour with Robyn in 2010.

The singer, who recently debuted a new single, finalised a divorce with rapper Nas in 2009.

Nas faced similar tax difficulties in 2010 after amassing a $3.3 million debt to the IRS.

Kelis has yet to comment on the recently-filed tax lien.
