Nicki Minaj Wants Children Protected From Her Explicit Lyrics

Nicki Minaj Wants Children Protected From Her Explicit Lyrics, Nicki Minaj has said that children should be protected from her more explicit lyrics.
The rapper has said in a new interview that she would be 'very upset' if she heard kids singing along to the 'dirty' versions of her tracks, like ‘Stupid Hoe’. Speaking to the Guardian's Weekend magazine – published tomorrow (April 28) - Minaj said: I don't want children cursing. I'm very strict on my nieces and my little brother. They have to listen to clean versions of music.
She added that she also thought there was a sexist slant when it came to people asking her to tone down her racier rhymes, saying "Why do people ask me to lose swear words? Do people ask Eminem to lose swear words? Do they ask Lil Wayne to lose swear words? Nobody stops them and says 'Would you stop swearing... for the children, please?'"

Nicki Minaj recently returned to Twitter a mere eight days after deleting her account. The rapper reactivated her page – Twitter.com/NickiMinaj – on the social networking site earlier this week and started posting again, much to the delight of her 11 million followers.

Minaj will tour the UK in June, playing two shows at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo on June 24 and 25, before moving onto Birmingham's NIA Academy on June 26. Minaj wraps up the tour on June 28 with a show at Manchester's O2 Apollo.

Nicki Minaj will also play a number of this year's summer festivals, with slots booked at T In The Park, V Festival and Wireless Festival. To check the availability of Nicki Minaj tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
